NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN CAR

NEW TECHNOLOGY IN CAR

Technology and innovation is a driving force to stay ahead in the automobile industry. With various car companies trying to outdo the other, using new technologies to provide the best features possible at affordable rates has become more of a necessity. Fuel efficiency, increased safety and ingenious ideas have made automobiles a fast-paced market in the world.

Listed below are a few technologies that have improved the safety and usability features of cars:

Curtain Airbags: These are placed on the headliner area (right above the windows). This prevents any type of injury or damage to the driver and his co passengers in the rear and front seat in case of an accident.

Black Box Technology: This became extremely popular with aircrafts and is now being used in cars as well. Also referred to as event data recorder, this is placed with airbags. In case of an accident, black boxes will give crucial information about the speed of the car while traveling, the location of the car, etc.

Navigation System: These give visual and audio instructions helping the driver reach his desired destination without worrying about getting lost or losing directions.

Run Flat Tires: These tires do not change their shape when there is a decreased air pressure helping you drive for more than 50 miles without having to worry about flat tires. These are available in hybrid cars.

Economy Mode: Latest technology allows the vehicle to switch off unwanted systems not being used by the owner. This helps the person save on a lot of power and fuel that otherwise goes wasted.
